During your first visit, Dr. Heering will complete a thorough evaluation, including:

• Reviewing your medical and dental history
•  Recording all medications you are taking at the time of the visit
•  Examining your gums and checking to see if there’s gumline recession
•  Assessing how your teeth fit together when biting
•  Determining if there are any loose teeth
•  Measuring the depth of the spaces between the teeth and gums, also known as periodontal pockets
•  Taking x-rays, when necessary, to assess the health of the bone below the gumline.

After the examination is complete, Dr. Heering will talk to you about your diagnosis, treatment options, and next steps. He also communicates his findings to your dentist, and will continue to work closely with your dentist—from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

Insurance Plans

We participate with most insurance groups.

A couple of important things to keep in mind:

• We need your insurance information before treatment, so we can verify coverage.
• Anticipate receiving statements during the time your insurance is pending (This will give you the opportunity to stay abreast of your balance).
• Should your insurance company pay more than expected, and you have a credit on your account, you will be issued a refund or the credit can be used towards future treatment.
